Entry No. 002 — When It Rains

Rain never asks the day for permission.

It simply arrives.

It doesn't apologize for interrupting our plans or changing the sky.

It slows everything.

It quiets what was loud.

The roads empty.
The trails become still.
Even the trees seem to breathe a little deeper.

We spend so much of our lives chasing clear skies that we forget what the rain is doing.

While we're wishing it away, the roots are drinking.

The rivers are filling.

The forests are becoming greener because of the very thing most people try to avoid.

Maybe our lives work the same way.

Not every day was meant for progress.

Some days were meant for growing roots.

The days that feel slow...
The conversations that don't have answers...
The seasons that seem to stand still...

They may be preparing us for what comes next.

Sunshine helps us see.

Rain helps us grow.

And maybe we need both.
